Sense Herakles Plus Tank Review:
The Sense Herakles Plus tank review is our second review regarding the Sense products. The Herakles Plus comes as an upgrade to the hugely successful original model, the Herakles, which has rightfully gained a top-tier position in the hall of fame of the best sub ohm tanks, because of its great performance, flavour and clouds in high wattages.
Herakles Plus Improvements
Following this huge success, Sense has come to release the Herakles Plus tank, a sub-ohm tank which is basically improved, compared to the original Herakles, in the following parts:
- New coil structure with tri-parallel coil design for maximum performance, with a pre-installed 0.4 Ohm Kanthal Coil and a 0.2 Ohm stainless steel coil included in the kit.
- Improved top airflow which allows the air to travel directly to the coil through an outer chamber, without having to compromise in flavour
- Top filling system
- E-liquid flow control that allows you to control the flow of the juice, depending on the thickness of the e-liquid you are using.
More analytically, the new coil 0.4 Ohm coil allows for output wattage of 35W to 100W, while the 0.2 Ohm coil allows for output wattage of 35W to 80W.
The tank comes with a 3.6ml e-liquid capacity, which although not huge, e-liquid consumption will depend on a plethora of factors, such as the frequency of vaping and the wattage output, is sufficient to keep the tank on the compact side and classify it as an everyday tank with huge potential. The Herakles Plus is available in a black or stainless steel colour.
- High performance tank that promises a great flavour and big clouds in high wattages
- 3.6 ml e-liquid capacity
- Design that dissipates heat and maximizes airflow
- Top filling tank
- Extra glass-tube included

E-liquid Flow Control System
As mentioned before, the e-liquid control system in a tank helps you control the flow of an e-liquid, depending on its viscosity. By using it, not only you get a more enjoyable vape, but you make sure that the wicks are saturated as much as needed. The juice airflow control should be more open for higher VG juices and more closed with e-liquids that have lower VG or equal PG/VG. The case here is that the e-liquid being less thick will travel more easily to saturate the wicks. Make sure that you do not leave it full open because this will over-saturate the wicks and lead into potential leakage.
Note: You need to make sure that when you are refilling the tank with e-liquid, the e-liquid control should be completely closed to avoid any spills.
Top Filling Design
The Herakles Plus has been reengineered to feature a top-fill design which really takes away the hassle factor of filling with e-liquid. Not only is it simple to refill, but there is also ample space to do so and avoid any possibility of leaking.
Top Airflow Control System
The top airflow control system in the Sense Herakles has been engineered in such a way that the air travels directly to the coil through an outer chamber, promising not to diminish the flavour in the least.
The tank vapes really well, has a great airflow and in this perspective, it is one of the best tanks around. If you want a thicker vapour, then do not fully open the airflow. I would not fully open the airflow too much for another reason as well. Although it does what it promises regarding the flavour, however, I find that I like the puffs I take not so ‘airy’ but more tight and full on my throat.
I tested the tank with my Eleaf Aster RT mod that can fire up to 100W and fits with any tank up to 22mm (0.87 inch) diameter.
Initially I used the 0.4 Ohm coil because this is the one pre-installed inside the Herakles Plus. Starting at 35 Watts, I found that little was happening both in the flavour and cloud sector. Performance improved when we raised wattage, with good results regarding flavour and clouds at about 60 Watts. The tank reached its peak flavour at 70-80 Watts. The 0.4 Ohm coil imparted a great, full flavour and it was the one I mostly preferred. However, I also noticed that when using this coil, not always but sometimes, it caused a bit of spit back, which was definitely a spoiler of an, otherwise very pleasurable experience.
The 0.2 Ohm coil was better in cloud production. Having a potential of a maximum wattage output of 80W, I found that the clouds were best at around 60W – 65W, they were still great at around 50W – 55W, without the vape being overbearingly hot but the flavour was more pronounced at around 70 Watts.
Overall, I found the 0.4 Ohm better than the spare 0.2 Ohm, simply because it imparted better flavour and very good clouds, enough to make my experience very enjoyable. Coil longevity is great, having using the 0.4 Ohm coil for more than three weeks, in quite lower than the maximum suggested wattage, before needing to replace.
Sometimes, during my Herakles Plus tank review, I experienced some leakages and from this perspective, I found its predecessor, Herakles, a better tank. A reason for this could be the e-liquid flow control system, but even when having it completely closed, the problem came up again. I tried not to mess too much with it. Make sure that when filling with e-liquid, the e-liquid flow is completely closed, as this can be a reason for leaking. I also try not to overfill the tank with e-liquid and always screw back tightly all parts after cleaning. The problem could also have to do with bad quality control, regarding some of the coils and this is possibly why we encountered this issue some of the times, while at other times our tank was completely leakage free.

The Sense Herakles Plus is a tank with many extra features, like e-liquid flow control and re-engineered coils that make it a true upgraded version to the original one. Apart from some leaking issues we encountered occasionally, the tank vapes really well, airflow is great, clouds are massive and flavour is unbeatable.
Compared to the Crown Uwell, being one of the best sub ohm tanks in the market regarding fullness of flavour, the Herakles Plus follows quite close. However, the Herakles Plus is possibly the best regarding airflow control. Regarding clouds, it gives some massive clouds, although the TFV4, by SMOK, is the best in this spectrum, especially because of the compatibility with many different coils, some of which are truly huge in size and can therefore create some huge clouds, but are also very expensive. A plus for the Herakles Plus is that it doesn’t drain the e-liquid as fast as it happens in the TFV4.
The Herakles Plus is a very good tank and can be rated as one of the top tanks available, like its predecessor, the original Herakles.
